RICHMOND WATER POLO

Message from Rowie

We received this lovely message from Rowie as she continues her preparation for Tokyo 2021

Hi Richmond Community,

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredibly generous financial support over the past 2 months. I am overwhelmed with your contributions and I can only hope that I repay you in bringing home a medal if and when the Tokyo Olympics go ahead.

Your contribution to my journey has allowed me to spend a week in NSW training with NSWIS and has equiped me to continue my heavy training regime.

On that note, it’s been an interesting and challenging year for everyone.

My year has looked extremely different too. I went from preparing with the National Team in Sydney and AIS to jumping in my car and returning home to Melbourne.

It wasn’t all bad though. I spent some really valuable time at home with family and I had the opportunity to rejoin the Victorian Waterpolo community to work on the fundamental skills that got me to the National Team in the first place.

Challenging circumstances across the year allowed me to reflect on just how much I love the game, how much the water polo community means to my career and challenge myself further to become a better player.

The next 8 months will no doubt bring new challenges, great stories, and an extreme amount of training.

We will base ourselves out of the Sunshine Coast for 5 months starting in February and with a bit of luck, may have the opportunity to play some international games prior to the Tokyo Olympics in July.

Thank you again for all your support. I look forward to updating you further in the new year.

Merry Christmas,
