FAIR PLAY, FAIR GO POLICY
FAIR PLAY AND FAIR GO
At Richmond Water Polo Club, we want to be known as a club that plays competitively and fairly. We want all juniors to enjoy the experience and to be long term players
THINK, ACT, PLAY - We support Water Polo Australia’s efforts to promote positive behavior and respect
FAIR PLAY
1) REPRESENT YOUR CLUB WELL
Always act and speak respectfully. Do not answer back to referees. It normally results in an exclusion and referees never change their minds
Be on time, in uniform, for each event
When someone else is speaking, listen. All feedback provided to others must be positive. No bad language or talking back
Respect your opponents. Violent or overt aggression will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action
Shake hands with the opposing team at the end of every match
2) TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS
Taking responsibility includes controlling yourself in and out of the pool, and not blaming anyone else for your actions
3) WORK HARD AT ALL TIMES, INCLUDING TRAINING
Work for the benefit of the team, ahead of your own game.
Team first, team second, self last
FAIR GO
1) REGULAR GAME TIME
All junior players (u12, U14 and U16B levels) can reasonably expect to be given regular game time. The following guidelines apply:
The coach will attempt to provide approximately equal game time to all players during all round games. Water polo is a team played by 13 players – this means in teams with 13 players (the most pool time a player could expect would be ½ a game);
In finals, tournaments and games which are critical to gain entry to the finals – pool time is at the coach’s discretion and may be dependent on attending regular training, playing ability and behaviour;
Teams without goalies will share the duties and all players will take turns.
2) TEAMS WITH MORE THAN 13 PLAYERS
Players will take turns to be rostered off;
Not all players will be able to play in finals, selection will be at the coach’s discretion.
