SUMMER COMP ROUNDUP

The Victorian State League Competition has concluded and here is a summary of how our teams went.

  • U14 Boys who won a silver medal in their final on Sunday. They faught until the end with the final quarter their best. No doubt they will be keen to keep that momentum at Youth Nationals in Brisbane.

  • U14 Girls finished up their season undefeated. A mix of experienced and new players this team has improved with every game.

  • U12 Tigers finished their season with a win and a respectable 4th on the ladder. All being new to the game they are showing great potential for next season.

  • U12 Cubs saved their best until their last match with their first win of the season. Brand new to Water Polo they have improved every week, we can’t wait to see you back next season.

  • WSL1 took the gold medal and were undefeated for the season. Richmond have not won this medal since 2010, we are so proud of their efforts.Congratulations to Zoe Hille who was awarded WSL1 Top Goal scorer and Zoe Hille & Mimi Stoupas who were both awarded MVP for WSL1

  • WSL2 finished second in the competition. This was their first season and they are all coming back for the Winter Comp.

  • MSL1 finished second on the ladder. It has been a solid season for this team and they will be looking forward to a rematch next season.

  • MSL2 finished second in a nail biting finish, playing to the final seconds this was a great match to watch.

  • MSL6 finished 3rd on the ladder. This team in their first season in SL6, won 8 of their 9 games. They are looking forward to another great season together.

    Congratulations to Thomas Burt who was awarded the MVP and highest goal scorer for SL6.

  • MSL7 finished with a good win after a shaky start to the consolation final. Given a lot of the team were playing for the first time it was a good result. Looking forward to next season

  • U18 Boys finished third on the ladder by forfeit but were lucky enough to have a scratch match against MC which was great practice for their upcoming AYCC campaign.

  • U16 Boys had a great final, 4-4 all at halftime they were able to come home strong with an 8-5 win. Congratulations to Will Ball for being the MVP for U16 Boys.

  • U18 Girls girls played a solid match to take the gold medal.

  • U16 Girls took the gold medal in an undefeated season. Congratulations to Alice Hockings who was awarded both highest goal scorer and MVP for U16’s.

A big thank you to all of our coaches and managers, we could not have had such a great season without you.
