U16 BOYS AYC

Our U16 Boys have wrapped up their AYC campaign with the best-ever result for a Richmond team.

Competing in the Gold Division against the top teams in the country, the boys finished an incredible 6th place — a huge achievement and a proud moment for our club.

The team faced a tough start with games against the reigning champs and a strong WA side. But with a positive mindset and fighting spirit, the boys came away with two one-goal wins, followed by a third convincing win to top their pool.

They then faced a strong Balmain outfit — led for much of the match but went down by a single goal in the final moments. The boys bounced back with a solid win over UNSW Wests, before taking on UQ Barras. After a fantastic first half, fatigue crept in and they narrowly went down by a goal in the last minute.

This was an incredible week of water polo, full of learnings and high-level play — and the boys are already keen to get back in the pool.

This result wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing support crew. Huge thanks to coaches Ben and Angus, and team manager Peter, for keeping the boys focused, fuelled and game-ready.

To our dedicated parents — your support and energy both leading up to and throughout the tournament meant the world.
